The art of patchwork, a work made from scraps of fabric, united by various techniques, creating various types of designs or patterns, continues to expand in the Azores through techniques that are passed from generation to generation.
Quilts, carpets, dampers, bags, decorative panels and many other pieces, in most cases exposed to the public for the first time, reflect the mastery of an art in the feminine, of inherited knowledge and shared experiences transferred to the textile universe.
Works that are part of the ethnographic collection of CRAA, the museums of the Region, artisans and some families and that tell stories in space and time.
