Creative Residency 2012 Catalog
The project Residências Criativas (Creative Residencies) of the Regional Center for Handicrafts focuses on the innovation of the artisanal product, through its reinterpretation and re-functionalization in a perspective of its valorization and adaptation to the current markets.
This first edition was held at the Regional School of Handicrafts of Santo Amaro in the island of Pico with the goal of encouraging the artistic creativity based on the Azorean arts.
In this residence were explored the areas of straw, lace and fish scales, with the creators Bruno Carvalho, Inês Ribeiro, Idalina Negalha, Patrícia Barbosa, Susana Melo in partnership with the sisters Alzira and Conceição Neves from the school.
