Cestaria
As fibras vegetais constituíram, tal como a madeira, um dos primeiros recursos naturais ao alcance dos povoadores do Arquipélago dos Açores.
Entre os variados objetos produzidos a partir das fibras vegetais, os cestos assumem o principal papel. A arte da cestaria fez parte do quotidiano de todas as civilizações que fizeram depender a sua sobrevivência da terra e do mar, apresentando sempre um caráter multifuncional, atualmente ainda mais diversificado e decorativo.
Chapelaria
Associados primariamente ao quotidiano da vida rural, dominado pela inclemência do sol e em segundo plano pela dominância de um gosto, o chapéu de palhinha, nos seus diversos modelos, foi presença constante no trajar dos açorianos. Hoje as formas são diversificadas e associam-se à moda e ao interesse turístico e cultural. De entre a produção tradicional, os chapéus da ilha do Pico utilizados pelas mulheres nas vindimas tornaram-se os mais conhecidos.
Vegetable fibers were, like the wood, one of the first natural resources available to the inhabitants of the Archipelago of the Azores.

The art of basketry was part of the everyday life of all civilizations that made their survival depend on land and sea, always presenting a multifunctional character, nowadays even more diversified and decorative.
Hats
Associated primarily with the daily rural life, dominated by the inclemency of the sun and in the background by the dominance of a taste, the straw hat, in its various models, was a constant presence in the attires of the Azoreans. Today the formats are diversified and are associated with fashion and the tourist and cultural interest. Among the traditional production, the hats of the island of Pico used by the women in the harvests have become the best known.
