The functions and responsibilities of the Crafts and Design Center of the Azores converge in achieving a general and common goal, the appreciation of Arts and the Azores Traditional Crafts.
Pursuing this goal means working incessantly for the qualification of the artisans at the level of knowledge and techniques, promoting product quality, the development of handicraft microbusinesses and for the dignity of the artisan status and craft production units.
In addition to the support for the economic development, the Crafts and Design Center of the Azores has the responsibility of promoting the handmade product with increased cultural value, between tradition and innovation by conducting handicraft training activities and support the quality of production, through certification. In this sense, the Handicraft Creative Advisory Service was created – SOCA, which will be provided by CADA’s team, after appointment.
The objective of this service involves the creative guidance in the production of innovative handicraft products, different production lines, as well as support in product promotion, in order to improve the handicrafts quality and promote the brand “Artesanato dos Açores” (Handicraft of the Azores).
Notice that the SOCA is mainly available to artisans and production units already registered.
