The “Residência Criativa” in 2013 had as general goals the creation of a collection of innovative handicrafts, linked to handmade weaving, focusing in the field of weaving of “repasso” and rag.
In a different format from the 1st edition, meeting the specific needs of the handicraft area and the target audience for this edition were invited two creative persons, Joana Dias and Teresa Gameiro, who created product lines related to fashion and home products, in partnership with the Cooperativa de Artesanato de Santa Maria.
Weaving in Santa Maria has a great tradition, however, the product is devalued and it was intended, through this edition of the Residency, revive the tradition with new values of contemporary aesthetic, capturing new market niches.
