LINHO REDESCOBERTO,
is a documentary that seeks reflections on the future of flax in the Azores. Director Alexander K. Doyle evokes the current anthropological context around flax cultivation and work in Portugal. He gives voice to this film to artisans, artists and scientists who are dedicated to revealing to a new generation the authenticity and beauty of such a noble and traditional plant. They are intended to preserve local traditions, but new techniques need to be devised so that the work of flax becomes economically viable in the 21st century. They wish to elucidate us with their vision of a future in which the beauty and art of the clothes we wear (in this case linen) reflect the growing worldwide trend, the interest in natural raw materials as well as crafts.
