The Cooperativa Desafios da Montanha was established in 2009 in order not only to produce, market and divulge the traditional activity of the population of the island of Pico, in different sectors, but also to promote the handicraft culture and innovation. The Cooperative as well as the development of their handicraft activity around artistic lace, in a traditional and contemporary perspective, also dedicates itself to the tilework.
