The most admirable lace in the Archipelago is made in Pico and Faial. They are of high quality and of recognized artistic and ethnographic value.

Its basic elements are the “rosettes”, with very different shapes and names. It is in the harmony with which the rosettes are connected to each other, with a variety of stitches, rigorously counted, that the uniqueness of this artistic crochet lies.
