Biography:

Ana Baptista is the bearer of the tradition of the lace makers of Faial and started the craft at the age of 8 during school holidays. She started working for Isilberta Peixinho, an indispensable reference in the laces from Pico and Faial at the beginning of the 20^th century. Years later she opened her own business, and she was in charge of several lace makers.

She recently collaborated with fashion designer Sílvia Teixeira on the project Residência Criativa 2016 edition, introducing new practices to her production.
