Biography:

Maria Barcelos, born in S. Miguel, started by learning how to make Lapinha Nativity Scenes, with the help of a lady named Nélia, at the Água de Pau parish council around 15 years ago.

However, she had to retire and, because she spent so much time at home, she dedicated herself more diligently to creating Lapinha Nativity Scenes, even saying that for her they are a kind of therapy.
