Biography:

Maria Luísa Benevides learned the art of Lapinhas about 10 years ago, in a course taken at Casa do Povo of the Village of Água de Pau, with the artisan Nélia Pacheco. She also learned to make Registos of Senhor Santo Cristo, arraiolos, fabric painting and fish scale works. She’s registered as an artisan since 2017 and since then has participated in all the handicraft fairs organized by CADA.
