Biography:

The sculptor Isabel Silva Melo congregates in her works two knowledges of the handicraft from São Miguel. The infantile imaginative load of her great-grandmother's Lapinhas, soon led the artisan to compose her own works with very unique characteristics. The works with fish scales came from the need to produce flowers for the ornamentation, emerging from then on a parallel passion. Not stopping there, she began to create with these leafy materials flowers in the form of costume jewelry pieces by giving them a very personal stamp through colors and very contemporary compositions.
