Biography:

Founded in 1942, this house is dedicated to the production of weaving of repasso and embroideries, two techniques linked, above all, to the confection of regional ethnographic costumes. They produce full costumes, either for man and woman, in cotton and linen weaving and shirts embroidered in matiz with the characteristic shades of blue. Their works on the loom are recognized on the island of S. Miguel, for the quality and technical rigor with which they are produced. The Casa de Trabalho do Nordeste is one of the few places in the archipelago of the Azores, where you can find sheep's wool skeins, of soft colors, dyed with local plants, which is carded and spun by the wise hands of the artisans who work here.
