Biography:

Mercês Sampaio is an embroiderer of excellence, dedicated not only to the traditional white embroidery of the island of Terceira, characteristic for the Richelieu, eyelet, full and buttonhole stitches, but also to the embroidery in matiz. She has worked in the art of the Regional Embroidery since a very young age, learning with her mother that was a professional embroiderer.
