Biography:

Cacilda was born in S. Roque on the island of São Miguel, where she dedicated herself to primary education for 32 years. Soon she discovered her taste and skill for manual crafts and proved to be a multifaceted artisan devoting herself to working with fish scales and lapinha Christmas cribs. She reveals an appreciation for nature by applying a series of materials such as sand and shells that in combination with the traditional elements make her works unique.
