Biography:

Maria de Fátima Rodrigues has been working with fish scales since she was 25 years old. She presents vegetal compositions of bleached scales worked with silver or gold bugle beads, on a black background, achieving harmonious scenic effects, framed by rich wooden frames. Her manual arts also extend to "Registos", beautiful pieces in homage to Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres. Having a great admiration for these pieces, she challenged herself to make them, in a process of constant improvement. According to the artisan, the beauty of her "Registos" lies in the diversity of elements she uses to compose them, always trying that these elements complement each other and result in unique pieces of great richness.
