Biography:

Self-taught, he began the production of ceramic figurines to supply an "esthetic" lack of the market. The quality of the pieces impressed the friends, the orders appeared at such a pace that his life as an artisan began to take all of his time. His nativity figurines are easily recognizable by the attention paid to the detail, producing a rich "realistic" figurine, where all the figures indispensable to the Christmas crib are present along with immense representations of Azorean popular customs.
