On July 29th, at 6 pm, the launch of the catalog "Requinte e Delicadezas" (Refinement and Delicacy) - The Collection of Maria Jovita de Medeiros Negalha" took place at the Núcleo de Arte Sacra of the Carlos Machado Museum. This publication was supported by the Regional Secretariat for Youth, Housing, and Employment through CADA – the Azores Center for Crafts and Design.
The exhibition and accompanying catalog feature a private collection of fish scale and cut paper works. The complexity, lightness, and creativity of her works are profoundly innovative for the time in which they were created. Maria Jovita Negalha's imagination and innovation, as well as her sense of proportion and color—her sense of aesthetics and technique in general—are undoubtedly of a superior level.
