Marina Mendonça Handmade by Marina Mendonça | Creation and production of author ceramic pieces through ceramic modeling and figurative ceramics
The ceramic pieces from Marina Mendonça are strongly influenced by the ancient stories and legends of the islands. Little sea monsters, intriguing characters. The little monsters, after being drawn, are made using the roller technique and are modeled. They may be similar, but there is no equal. The table pieces are made of liquid faience, which gives them lightness, and painted in soft colors, inspired by nature. The process of creating faience pieces also starts with a drawing. Afterwards they are shaped and passed to molds, thus being able to repeat as many times as necessary. Her studio was created from scratch. It is located in the heart of the island of Santa Maria, surrounded by countryside. Fruit of the Creative Residency in Ceramics and Vegetable Fibers promoted by CRAA in 2019, Marina began to develop a new line of products, such as her suspended pots for small plants.
