From plant to basket: workshop on extracting fiber from the Kahili ginger palm and research presentation.

Zahra Tyebjee graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI and holds a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) in textiles. She is currently developing a research project focused on Azorean basketry through a Fulbright scholarship program. CADA, along with Anda&Fala - Associação Cultural (through the RARA project), are the two entities affiliated with this research. In recent months, Zahra has developed a method for extracting fiber from Kahili ginger, a raw material abundant in the region, which she is now sharing with the public.
