"The European Cetacean Society (ECS), a world-renowned scientific organization dedicated to the study and conservation of marine mammals, has been organizing an annual scientific conference for the past 35 years. This event offers a unique platform for global cooperation supported by knowledge and innovation in favor of the conservation of cetaceans and their habitats. The next edition, in May 2025, will take place in Ponta Delgada with the theme “Navigating Waters of Change”. The proposal, inspired by the geographical position, history, convergence of cultures and richness of the marine ecosystems of the Azores, aims to discuss the conservation of cetaceans in light of the constraints of current global change.
