Goldsmithing - Filigram
Manufacture or repair of precious metal artifacts, notably gold, intended for adornment or personal use, normally from drawings, models or other technical specifications, using manual instruments and tools and small auxiliary machines, such as the rolling mill and the fair.
It includes the filigree technique, a process that aims to obtain very fine threads from a gold or silver bar, which are then manually twisted to create a serrated cord. The thread is bent, coiled and intertwined until the desired effect is obtained. There is application filigree (to decorate/fill other pieces) and integration filigree (piece completely made in filigree).
