Wicker work was not restricted to the production of baskets. In the 19th century, emerged the making of furniture to suit the romantic fashion of summer villas and winter gardens.
Wraping is another technique applied to wicker and complementary to the activity of a basket maker. Using similar techniques, using the same materials and tools, glass bottles, chair seats and a series of pieces of furniture are created from a simple wooden structure, which is then lined and ornamented with wicker plaits.
