Azores handicrafts present at the Wine Fest in Madeira

The Vice Presidency of the Government, through the Regional Center for Handicrafts (CRAA), promotes, under the Craft & Art project, the participation of Azorean companies in the Wine Fest, which runs from August 29 to September 8, in Funchal, Madeira Island.

The project Craft & Art – Empower by Innovation aims to launch in the market products where the handicraft component is significant and, through the integration of products in the brand Artesanato dos Açores, create sustainability for the work of artisans and reach new markets beyond the traditional ones.

This regional event, developed in partnership with the Madeira Wine, Embroidery and Handicraft Institute (IVBAM), which oversees, in addition to the wine sector, the handicraft sector in the archipelago of Madeira, aims to take advantage of the season of greater tourist flow to give visibility to the work of handicraft companies and promote the commercialization of Azorean handicraft products.

In this sense, there will be present Maria Paixão Resendes, with embroidery works, lapinha nativity scenes, Registos and similar, and Catarina Alves, with costume jewelry and stone sculpture, both from the island of São Miguel.

The show can be visited at placa central da Avenida Arriaga, from August 29th to September 8th, from 10am to 7pm.
