Artesanato dos Açores present at the Lisbon International Fair

The Vice-Presidency of the Government, through the Regional Center for Handicrafts (CRAA), promotes the participation of the Azores and regional companies at the International Handicrafts Fair of Lisbon (FIA), which runs from June 29 to July 7.

The participation in the International Handicrafts Fair in Lisbon aims to promote Azorean handicrafts and artisans, with a view of reaching new audiences, once the event receives, during the nine days, not only professionals and lovers of crafts, arts and design, but also interested in handicrafts as a cultural manifestation.

The 13 handicraft companies that are present in this event, from Santa Maria, Terceira and São Miguel, respectively, present works of several handicraft areas, with special emphasis on innovative, sustainable productions certified by the collective brand of Artesanato dos Açores.

The handicraft presents a new dynamism in the Azores with the appearance of new companies and creation of employment, assuming a new dimension, of renovation and repositioning, especially of the brand Artesanato dos Açores.

This event is one of the most important for the promotion and business of Azorean companies, promoting not only the exhibition and the sale of traditional products, but also aims at improving conditions in terms of internationalization, such as access to markets and international recognition of the value of regional products and services.

This fair, which assumes itself as one of the most important events in the Iberian Peninsula and the second largest in Europe, receives more than 110 thousand visitors, stimulates the relationship between tradition and modernity, enhancing the exhibition and sale of traditional products, but also those that incorporate design and innovation, promotes regional and rural development and enhances the intrinsic relationship of natural resources with culture and tourism.

This show will been open to the public until July 7, and the exhibition area can be visited from 3:00 p.m. to midnight.
