Artesanato dos Açores with a new stand at the Lisbon’s International Fair

The Vice-Presidency of the Government promotes once again the participation of the Azores in the Lisbon’s International Handicrafts Fair (FIA), which runs from June 24th to July 2nd at FIL. In this edition, which is held as the largest handicraft fair in the Iberian Peninsula, hosting more than 100,000 visitors, Artesanato dos Açores presents a new stand, with 9 business modules for handicraft companies and a space of the Regional Center for Handicrafts. The stand was conceived and built by Azorean companies, namely the young architects Filipe Mota and Paulo Vieitas of SALA2, reflecting the bet on the regional product, is built entirely in cryptomeria, presenting geometries that refer to the Azorean popular architecture. The promotional space counts on the presence of 9 artisanal production units from the islands of São Miguel, Terceira and Pico, which will exhibit works from the most diverse artisanal areas, namely embroidery, lace, fish scales, lapinha Christmas cribs, registos of Santo Cristo dos Milagres, ceramics, costume jewelry, vegetal fibers and weaving.
